About the Star Party
Every year I partner with Kube Coworking to organise our annual star party in the amazing dark skies of Campinho, Alentejo.
It’s an amazing opportunity for those curious about the night sky and want to enjoy two nights under the stars.
Location
The event will take place at Sorte Verde Tourism, located in the small village of Campinho, very near to Alqueva lake. Here you’ll enjoy the amazing dark skies and experience the Alentejo slow living atmosphere.
How to get there
The host
I’m David Cruz, designer by day and astrophotographer by night. During these two nights I will guide you through the night sky and teach you the basics of stargazing, identify constellations, deep-sky objects, and give you an introduction into astrophotography with smartphones.

Program
NIGHT 1 Friday - 10 July
- Meet up in Sorte Verde Tourism.
- Stargazing session, observation with binoculars, deep-sky observation with telescope, astro-portraits.
NIGHT 2 Saturday - 11 July
- Meet up in Parque de Merendas, Alqueva Lake.
- Stargazing session and astrophotography workshop with digital cameras and smart phones (you’ll need a small tripod to stabilise you phone during long exposures)
CHECKOUT Sunday - 12 July
- Checkout at Sorte Verde Tourism until 11:30
