About me
Since I was young I was always interested in astronomy and got used to watching the Milky Way during summer vacations in my parents’ village. In 2020 I took my first steps in astrophotography during a weekend workshop in the countryside. I was completely amazed by what we could do with just a camera and a tripod.
After that I never stopped exploring the hobby. I’m a professional Digital Designer and that allowed me to transfer that knowledge to astrophotography image processing, but the learning curve was immensely steep. Even today there are always a lot of things to learn, with new equipment, and image processing techniques.
In the first years I was always traveling to the countryside to photograph the night sky, but everything changed in 2023 when I bought my house in the dark skies of Alentejo, Portugal. That allows me to get immense hours under the stars and take my astrophotography to the next level.

Location
I’m based in the dark skies of Alentejo, Portugal where I have access to beautiful bortle 3 skies. Here I have built a small observatory to focus on deep-sky imaging but also I have access to some nice areas to do night-scape.

Mu Cephei
This was my second NASA APOD and my first with a deep sky object. I thought of getting the red supergiant Mu Cephei and the surrounding nebulosity of the Elephant Trunk nebula. It turned out a very original framing and the refraction spikes also gave it a nice touch.
